Starting from scratch

My first painting based on
KING ART N 44 ALLA DERIVA

In June or July of 2019 I decided to try my hand at painting. I saw a YouTube videw showing how to make a sailboat at sea and thought "I could do that!" so I went to Hobby Lobby and Joann's Fabric and Michael's to get the required supplies: some stretched canvas, a few colors of acrylic paint, a roller (called a "brayer"), and a palette knife or 2. The hook was in, and, although I didn't know it for sure, the hook was set.

The results were a mixed bag. I enjoyed the painting experience but the results were not as good as the guy's in the YouTube video from King Marty. That was not surprising.

So, I was presented with a challenge, and off I went. Like most, if not all, of my other hobbies I found a merger of art and technology and it interested me.
